A saved link is a route, not a product record
Direct links can redirect, expire, change language or open a different variant later. Save the page title or item reference, selected variant, source service and check date beside the URL. That context makes it possible to notice when a destination changes.
Check identity before comparing details
- Confirm that the destination still describes the intended item or product family.
- Confirm colour, size and other variant fields instead of relying on the URL alone.
- Record whether the link opened, redirected, was access-blocked or was unavailable.
- Remove optional tracking parameters from the saved copy when they do not identify the item.
Keep changing facts dated
If price or stock matters, store the currency, displayed amount, variant and date together. A product price may exclude service fees, domestic delivery, international shipping and tax. A previous check is not a current offer.
Use the source only for what it shows
Listing text can document a seller’s current statement. Item-specific photos can document visible photographed details. Neither proves authenticity, material composition, seller reliability, durability or the condition of a future item.
When a category route helps
Use a category route when the saved page no longer gives enough context or when several options need the same comparison fields. Use a direct link once the exact item question is clear, then recheck the destination before taking the next step.
